I'm a botanist and chemist. Has anyone begun a catalog of local plant life? If not, I'll try and start one. If you've had weird plant experiences plse descrb. and lpet me know.

Sometimes, it's a good thing to be a monster.

Not really. Not when you kill people.

I understand.
Perhaps not in the same way, but I understand. If you ever do want to talk about it my offer stands.

Re: Private
[How to condense it.]
I was working on a crop formula for the Department of Agriculture. It was designed to help plants thrive in harsh environments, restoring the soil beneath them even when arid biomes prevented them from getting enough nutrients.
Several men, who I learned later were working for Anton Arcane wphtogwhg-
[Sorry about that. He mashed the buttons. Anton makes him angry.]
They blew up my lab, killed my wife, and burned me alive. My body was reclaimed by the rot, death in my world. It turned out however that I was destined to become an elemental guardian for the earth. The green copied my memories to create a plant version of myself.
He...lived a life. He was a plant trying to be a man and he was good at it. Very good.
[Too good. Far too good. Still. It's his life in a way.]
Events...occurred and I was brought back to life as a human being. Except then circumstances beyond my control led me to be transformed - permanently into what I am now. I was born a man, but some part of me was always tied into the green, and this is just as much a part of me as the human life I led.
Except for the fact that I'm very aware that I'm not human anymore and that comes with certain instincts and urges.
Re: Private
I'm so sorry about your wife and [well] death. I am glad the [???] green found a way to bring you back at least.
What kind of instincts and urges?
Re: Private
Plants are...not friendly. The plant kingdom can be just as deadly as the animal kingdom. The only difference is size.
[Why would you be glad...never mind.]
I sacrificed my human form to the green. When I die I will go to the parliament of trees and govern future avatars working to ensure the green's survival. I'm better then most but the green's needs come first.
[Do they though? He frowns, staring at the screen.]

Human beings are all I have at this point.

He was becoming an individual person from me, it's almost like he died.
Re: Private
Before I became the Swamp Thing the green copied my memories and personality into an...automaton.
[he was more then that. He was a man. A good man who was a better man then he was, a plant. A better plant. A better person.]
He was better at being human then I am.

The Hulk never really got a chance to be better. He tried because I tried. I talk about us like we're separate people, because we're not exactly the same person either. It's more split personalities.
Maybe he was living his life better those two years than I do.

Re: Private
[There's a really long pause before he responds again.]
But he never asked for what he had, or what he became. When he found out that he wasn't me, it nearly destroyed him. Out of that, he built his own identity and became so worthy of it that the universe made him a white lantern, the ultimate force for good.
...How could I hate him after that? Being around him reminds me of how hard it is to be a human being.
