Hello, new friends! My name is Kurt Wagner, though back home, as a member of the X-Men, I was also known as Nightcrawler. We are superheroes, despite what certain TV news networks have to say about it.

I do not know if any of these names mean anything to any of you, but in my previous experience in cross-dimensional travel, there are often alternate versions of people or places, so I try not to rule out any possibility- especially if it means you have heard good things about me.

And before you ask, no, not everyone in my world looks like me. I am a mutant- humans born with some different genes that often make us look a little different on top of many of us having some extraordinary abilities. [ Abilities he is admittedly missing quite a lot. ]

I wanted to make a quick video to introduce myself, as I know my appearance can be a bit startling to some people. If you see me about the village, feel free to introduce yourself. And if there's anything you need a willing pair of hands to help you with, I am looking for ways to make myself useful here. I don't imagine you have much use for a drama teacher.

I don't exactly have a way to hide the fact that I am different here, and I am not particularly fond of lying. Besides, looking the way I do, I'd rather explain myself before anyone assumes more sinister reasons for my devilishly handsome features.

I mean, do you, I guess. I’m just sayin’, I’ve already done time being locked up and experimented on, and I’m not in any hurry to go through round two. I don’t wanna give these assholes in charge here any ideas.

Very rewarding, actually. Even among mutants, there will always be theater kids, and they're some of the easiest to work with as a teacher.

Even if they also happen to be able to light their head on fire or climb the walls.

I don't know anything about mutants. [Her world has demons but they don't see to be the same thing.] But that sounds like fun.

I think climbing walls would make some scene's easier... I don't know about fire.

Ja, it is taking some adjusting to not having them, I have to admit.

You're not the only one who feels that way. I know there are people who have magic at home.

[Mutants - as Kurt uses the term - are something that Picard has only really learned of the existence of since his arrival in the village. But either way, he doesn't so much as bat an eye at Kurt's appearance.]

Maybe not a teacher, no. But arranging to put on a play would help make the winter months seem a little less depressing, or so I'd imagine.

[ OK but Kurt does do a slight double-take at Picard at first. For obvious meta-reasons. Look he may be 616 but even canon acknowledged the resemblance. Several times. ]
Well, I imagine someone would have to write one for us first. I'm pleading "English is not my first language" to that one.

I am more of an improvisational performer, admittedly- and more physical than pure theatre. I grew up in the circus- I did trapeze, mostly, but you learn to do a little of everything when the big top is your backyard.

There should be a compilation of the works of Shakespeare in the village, although we'd still need to find enough people willing to perform it.

[And saves them the effort of having to actually find someone willing and able to write a play, besides.]

But I can definitely keep that in mind, in case the idea manages to get off the ground properly.
