This is uncomfortable. We have never been this open before. Venom's voice in his head is anxious. Eddie turns on the camera and he looks his usual pale and shaky self. Beads of sweat ooze down his head and he gags heavily.]

Hey guys. Eddie Brock here. Your friendly neighborhood reporter...guy. Who is a...[He swallows] Okay so. There's some folks who know this...

[he shakes his head]

I'm saying this wrong.

[Eddie gags again and when he speaks he sounds...different.]

Eddie. Talk Stupid

[he coughs again, nearly leaning to the floor before he comes up with a grunt.]

Stop! fucking stop trying to talk through my throat okay that hurts like hell - !

[No. That's disconcerting. Something black swims through his vision, visibly inhuman. He grips his knees.]

Right. Okay. Long story short. I'm Eddie Brock. I'm a reporter. I believe firmly in...[He swallows and coughs.] Vox Populi Vox Dei. The voice of the people is the voice of God. Back home I did that...and I hurt people I care about doing it.

[His eyes are red rimmed and he looks sick.]

I'll never be able to apologize enough but it's okay. Cause I...well. I met Venom. Who is Venom. Well. That's what this...video is about.

[ugh. he yawns hard and sighs]

I'm usually a lot better on camera. Sorry. Sorry.

So this guy. Carlton Drake. If you're from the same universe as Tony Stark and Bruce Banner and everybody else you might know him. Head of the Life Foundation? So...He was bad news bears. He kidnapped... [yawn] Homeless people in San Francisco and he was trying to ...feed them to aliens. Well, bond them to aliens. From a planet. Called Klyntar-

[Augh. His guts churn.]

I went to investigate the place. To rescue a woman I knew. Her name was Maria. Shit. Shit I don't have much time...

That's what I'm saying! Eddie I need you to focus!

[Eddie Swoons.]

I agreed...to be a host for...the symbiote. That's what they are. We fit. Perfect match one in a million in the galaxy. Drake... and Venom...decided to stay...hes...

[But Eddie gets no further as he slumps in his chair. A few moments pass before something Happens. It's slow as his body vanishes and swells into something decidedly inhuman. The creature sits up and sniffs before staring down at the camera. One big milky white eye focuses on it.]

What Eddie didn't say is that we defeated Drake and saved the day. He is a loser. I am a loser. Together we are greater then the sum of our parts. We are mighty warriors! And we will now take questions. Like Eddie does. When he is a reporter he asks questions. Ask us questions! now!

[It's probably not a good thing that this great hulking thing has it's teeth out but he nods. His tongues lolls out of it's mouth as it gets uncomfortably close to the camera.]

Good. That's reassuring. Thank you, Venom. I would like to have a talk with the two of you when Eddie can be present too, if that's possible. Tony says he wanted us to talk before this but we didn't get a chance, so maybe we can do that some time.

[Venom's tongue lols out and throws the table into the wall. He stares at it and frowns.]

...When Eddie and I arrived here we were fused together. Normally we have far more autonomy. He would be less creepy if I could come out regularly.

That said. We can talk to you. What can we talk to you?

[Eddie?

Venom squirms.]

You're not creepy, Venom, you're just different.

No, it's fine. We can talk. I don't really know your end of things. The reason Tony thought we should talk is because I was in a situation not dissimilar. After an experiment with radiation, my genes mutated and with adrenaline spiking I would turn into an entity known as the Hulk. He was a giant green creature. We technically shared a mind and a body, but it was uncontrollable for a long time, and we weren't able to talk the way you two do.

[OH BOY VENOM HAS SUDDENLY FOUND SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS.]

So you were a host for this hulk? Venom sits, But he was also you? I will ask Eddie about this.

[Venom has had bad hosts. It eats at him somedays. Maria. The other humans. Eddie has humanized him and...]

When I first bonded with Eddie I was uncontrollable. I thought only of my mission. Then I saw his memories. Memories of love and sadness. And food. And snow. His life is shitty. Truly shitty

[Venom points.]

But he is himself. He is goofy and watches cartoons despite other adults not doing that. He calls himself a borderline anarchist. He would rather give 20 dollars to a homeless person then keep it for himself.

He could not help sharing his life with me. It is my nature. But his life shines through.

you did not like this hulk? It was a bad fit for you?

We weren't as cut and dry as you and Eddie, one of us isn't the host, he was created by science within me. If we could actually reason with each other the way you two do, things would probably be a lot better for everyone. We had a bad situation. When people came to hurt us, he would hurt them back, and a lot of innocent people at the same time. Sometimes he would come out because I was afraid or upset, without provocation, and hurt people. It wasn't always intentional, but it doesn't change that it happened.

Eddie sounds like a great guy and I look forward to meeting him. I am glad that you found a host that clearly suits you and that you two have managed to choose a healthy lifestyle. And I'm very glad you let everyone here know.

[A few places up Venom learned about the "private" button. It made things disappear.

He pushes it again.]

...There is darkness in Eddie that makes him sad. It makes him sleep. It sounds like this hulk lives in that place if all human minds have it.

The more I've met creatures from all over the galaxies, the more I think that dark and light sides of everyone exists, not just in humans. [He sounds tired and sad himself.] We're all connected by the ability to feel, something you've communicated yourself, about how you feel toward others. Do you ever get sad?

No.

[Venom considers this]

But I am in Eddie. Of Eddie. What monstrous god would create a species with such buried greatness and curse them with souls born wounded?

[Venom frowns]

I don't know if there is a god, but it does seem pretty cruel to create us so flawed and prone to melancholy. When you get frustrated with him, just remember, it's how we're made. Brain chemistry is endlessly complex and brutally unstable. You're a new partnership. Eventually a lot of these issues will be ironed out and you'll live as harmoniously as possible.

Hrm.

[Venom snorts. When he speaks venom sounds as sincere as he can.]

...We are sorry it did not work out for you and your...other. A bond is personal so that is the last we will say on that.

Thanks. I'm actually moderately surprised you two stayed together, this place has a way of separating us from all abilities or things that made us supernatural before. It's probably because you are an individual on your own, rather than a split personality.

...This place. Venom's growl is deep. This place is not physically terrible but the toll it takes on people.

We are two who become one. So there are 3 of us.

So there's two of you individually and then a third together? [interesting.]

Two become one. Eddie needs all the help he can get he is...a mess. But as Venom we are stronger.

He wants to be a hero.

It sounds like the two of you did something very heroic.

We were SO heroic. Eddie acquitted himself well. He has...wanted to be heroic for a long time. It was my hope to encourage that.
