Who do I speak with about ingredients for baked goods? I am more than willing to share the results of such endeavors or otherwise come to a trade agreement.
On an unrelated curiosity:
Does this place have a name?
Has anyone given constellations names or configurations?
I am a mapmaker by trade, which is why I ask.

I have heard of no name for this village, but if you desire, I can be of some assistance in map making. You already know I have paper and pencils. I am also in possession of a straight edge and drawing compass. I also have some minor experience in making maps, though usually for larger cities. At the very least I can help give measurement details I've been putting together on structures to make it more accurate to whatever scale you set.

Measurements are useful, though if I am to do this properly it will be more than just the villages involved.
I hope you enjoy mathematics.

[Apparently he can't resist the double talk with Malik. The man is clearly skilled at it.]
Ah, well, I am not as capable outside of the village. I'm not really equipped to head out of the village without someone to assist me. I'm not good with the wilderness, or protecting myself without my magics.
And I do. Most of my mathematical skill is skewed toward this specific sort of thing.
Re: UN: Malik
[And terrible jokes.]
I would not be surveying anything farther than a day away until the weather thaws. Farther than that is asking for trouble.
I can protect you well enough, and I expect at least a few would end up joining us.
Re: UN: Malik
A kind offer. And I would hope that I could be useful, as I've gotten skilled at being able to track distances rather accurately based on the length of my stride.
However there is talk of creating a secondary farm to the south, where the climate is milder. I am under of how such a drastic difference can occur in a relatively short distance, but, well there you have it. I could at least possibly assist you in mapping between here and there. As this place would be a farm and we would need people staying there, I have offered to assist in the creation of a bunkhouse, perhaps even storage space. I fear that will consume much of my time in the immediate future.
[And now that he's thinking of it, he should probably ask someone to watch over his house while he's off on that task as well.]
Re: UN: Malik
Snow and cold will make it tricky, but I can start on that easily enough. There is not much elevation change between the two from what I have been able to tell.

We would all need to agree on one, which is rarely easy to do with so diverse a group.

I am not sure if there is a standard.
[Baking ingredients would be harder since most baking ingredients are heavily processed and not all of them exist in this climate range. Wanda does know that yeast is a type of fungus.]

[Wanda doesn't think that it's practical or possible given that there are so many different people living in the village.]

They are landmarks of the night sky, as useful as a distinctive tree or other such marker of the land.
