There’s already been a few offers for drinking buddies, I’ll add this one to the pile for them. As for strangers vs people who know you, I think that depends on the circumstances.

I was blessed with friends who made things better even when things couldn't possibly get better. I've always tried to be that for other people too, especially here, where none of them are. I'm not sure it would matter to me, that I died for the wrong reasons. It is nice knowing I died to save people, but it doesn't make me any less dead than if I fell down a staircase.

Dead is dead, right? Just gotta get through it. Make more friends. Drink a lot more.

That's the way I cope with it, it doesn't mean it works for everyone. It might also take time. No one can rush the way they feel and make it go away. Unfortunately.

Unfortunately. But I do agree. It'll take them time. I think they get that? But it's still hard.

Is there anything that has made it better?

Sex? I guess. Sex makes everything better.

It does! See, you've got that. Except there's no bloody herbs here to handle the baby problem, not that there are any babies here. And I haven't heard of anyone having them. But still, might be something we should look into, there's herbs here, surely there's a remedy.

If there haven't been any records of anyone having children in this place then maybe it's something that just isn't possible? Which would then lead me to think back on something a friend said where we're all one big experiment and have been medically engineered in some way. Made up in some lab god only knows where.

Some of us have abilities tied in to the colors of our scrubs, right? How did we get these abilities? What's to say that they—whoever they are—haven't messed with us in other ways? We could all be sterile and not realize it.

Is it weird to say I'm hoping that's the case, because I certainly don't want to bring a baby into this situation. Also in general, as I decided a long time ago it wasn't for me.

I never had much time to sit around and consider starting a family due mostly to my line of work. If I didn't have any time for myself then why would I have time to take care of a tiny human being?

Exactly the same here. Plus all the people constantly trying to kill me would love a target.

That’s never fun. But I know that feeling all too well.

It just generally didn't see like a good idea. Especially as magic running so strongly in my family could lead to a mage situation for my child.

Is that bad?

My sister would likely be furious if I said so, but yes, it is. Mages are taken from their families and put into the circle, which is more or less a fancy prison.

What't the point of that?

Significantly better. I'm not sure how easy they'd be to come by here, mind. But I do one of my own here - it's not something that I'd be willing to lend out, but I'd be more than willing to explain its use.

Although that would likely be best done in person.
