[if you know tommy, you know that his solemn expression here is fairly uncharacteristic. maybe this is what maturity looks like? because he's actually taking this pretty seriously.]

So ... I know we all have a lot we're dealing with here in the Village of Suck. Like, all those times people ended up getting poofed to weird places? That was irritating enough, but now there's actual kidnappings happening, right? So I was thinking ... a while back, during the winter, I'd talked with a guy here about setting up a good old-fashioned footrace once it warmed up. My idea was to do it for fun, but he said it would be a good way to figure out who here is fast enough to get emergency messages around to everyone. These wrist things are fine, if they're working. But if they suddenly crap out and we're under attack, we gotta have a way to alert everyone about it.

[he pauses, mouth pursed. this entire situation feels a little too much like being entirely powerless for tommy's liking. then again, who likes a game that's stacked against them?]

Back home, I've got super speed, so I can run really fast. If I could still do that, I wouldn't even be suggesting this, but here I'm just a regular snail like everyone else. I mean, I'm still pretty good at running, and I bet I can still outrun everyone else, so I guess that's my question - who here is the fastest? Is anyone faster than me? And who wants to find out?

[tommy gives the camera quick fingergun and a nod.]

Let me know.

[Just voice today - quiet and subdued.]

So, um.

For any of you who don't know. Zevran's gone. It's... been a few days now.

He's been quiet for a while, I just.

....Yeah.

Anyway, sorry for the... the bad news.

[The screen comes to life with Nida stretched out on a bed. Which is of course weird because the guy just about lives in the dojo, or did. Still, this is where he is now, and do with that what you will.]

Hello all. I just remembered that I sort of failed to provide an update on this.

As some of you may have noticed, I seem to have spent the weekend living, oh, somewhere between 19 and 20 months back home. In the course of what I'm told was two days here. I was for all intents and purposes gone, and I had the dubious pleasure of returning here older, hopefully wiser, and a good deal more tired.

Given all of this I will be temporarily cutting back on the lesson hours I will be offering at the dojo. There are a few things I need to do to mentally reorient to life here, and even a week has not been sufficient for that. But as part of the process I'm trying to find some ways to relax myself.

So basically hi I'm here again and healthy.

[He grimaces briefly at the word choice because it's a few forms of inaccurate but whatever.]

And frankly if anyone has some good activities for means to relax, please share. I could use some, what was the phrase that was used?

Ah, 'Self-Care' days.

So I open the discussion to the town.

What do you do to make yourself feel better when you're stressed? I'm happy to try as many as are offered.

[Another look, this time one of regret, because, well, maybe that wasn't the best suggestion. Because he knows people here whose idea of relaxing is sexual in nature and that he can't manage.]

Weeks ago I witnessed something I never thought I would see. Of course you hear about it all the time: people disappear. People go home. They go somewhere.

For those who knew Alec, he's gone. And I'm so sorry.

We met up, we camped, and we looked out for one another. Once we made it back to the village, that was when he. Vanished.

It made me think; if he's gone home, what is home, for him? Would he be all right? And then I think about what “home” is for me and it hits all the harder that home is dark. Home is cold. Home is nothing.

There's nothing for me to go back to.

How is anyone supposed to deal with that? Especially when something like that happens and you can’t unsee it.

A need a fucking drink.

[Bruce comes into view, clearing his throat, trying to look as presentable as he can from this angle. It's probably not the best choice to give his message, but he feels like doing it only in text would come off as cold. His hair is filled out now with some curl to it, with more gray at the temples along with it.]

Hi. I'm Dr. Bruce Banner, I know a lot of you, but not all of you. There are, um, two things I wanted to put out there to the community. First I am a scientist and I'm very curious what they did to us biologically to make new powers happen, and remove powers from others. Sam and I have talked about getting a closer look at blood to see if there's any obvious changes we can pinpoint, and so, uh, if people are willing to donate a little blood, that would be great.

[He's nervous about asking, for a variety of reasons, one being that he himself has always guarded his blood for very good reasons. So he understands and respects other people not being comfortable. This next one is a little easier at least, and he smiles faintly.]

The other thing is that Kamala and I have figured out almost all the powers, and because of that, we were thinking anyone who wanted to be trained on them could start doing that. If you don't know what yours is, we can, uh, help tell you, and there are people here who have been using them long enough to be as close to experts as you can get. It's ... probably a good idea for people to know what they can do.

So. Okay. That's ... everything. It's all voluntary. Um. I'm in the schoolhouse a lot if you have questions.

[He awkwardly gives a thumbs up and then rolls his eyes at himself as if to say why you are so awkward, and the video ends.]

[He's gotten better at this with practice, though this is still only voice instead of video. If anything, he sounds tired, perhaps slightly breathless, but cheerful.]

Though we have all only recently returned from this latest occurrence, I am afraid I must beg forgiveness of those on the watch as well as those whom I have been instructing. I will be ... preoccupied for the next few days, after which I will return to my commitments as I can.

I assure you of my good health and demeanor; it is only that circumstances have changed and there will be something of an...

Adjustment period.

Thank you for your understanding. Safety and peace.

Checking in for our latest round of forced vacations. I'm with 7. We're both OK. We're in some kind of swamp. No idea where in relation to the village. We've got a creepy note here, apparently we're hunting snakes if we want to get home.

Is anyone else going to miss their new color when this whole thing inevitably wears off?

Also it seems obvious in retrospect but our colors have to do with our personalities. If you guys have noticed anything like that I guess I can add it to my notes.

Since the medical staff keeps changing, I'd like a head count. If you have any kind of medical training - field medic, nurse, doctor, or anything in between even if it's just that you helped out in a crisis - would you mind letting me know? Even if I already know what you can do. You can tell me privately, if you'd rather. If you have skills, but would rather not be called on unless there's a crisis, let me know.

On that note, if anyone would like, I was thinking of offering medical classes. Honestly, the more people we have here who can respond in a crisis at all levels, the better all around. So if you're interested in medical lessons, let me know what you want to learn. Field medicine, triage, nurse, doctor. Or if you already know a few things and would like to help me teach, that would be wonderful as well.

[The video comes on to a smiling face who, though it's not immediately obvious, is somewhere that it should not be. Which, in this case, is Seifer's bedroom. Not that anyone other than Seifer should be aware of that fact. What happened to respect of personal space? Not even kidding. But there he is, stretched out on a bed, grinning up at his watch.]

[ As audio is enabled, there’s a lot of background noise. There’s the high pitched barking of a dog, there’s a chorus of what sounds like baby chicks cheeping. And then there’s her, groaning at the fact that now the once quiet home she shared with Ezio sounded like a mini zoo. Where did this puppy come from? And why in the hell did she get a box of baby chicks?

Everything else she’d found waiting for her with her name on the boxes, all of that she could use. Clothes, candles, the booze and playing cards. But damn—a dog and baby chicks?
]

So it seems like this house for two is now a house for nine. I guess I can work with a puppy, he’s cute, but six baby chicks? On the plus side, at least they’re all getting along. Who knew small animals came in boxes; is this normal?

—no, no no. No jumping. [ Oh dear. She sighs to herself. ]

Before I venture out into the snow, any idea if the Inn has a leash handy? I’ll need to work out food as well.

[ Though she’d rather not leave the house or her newly welcomed animal companions. ]

[ private to ezio ]

Hope the noise isn’t too much for you. I also hope you’re not allergic to dogs.

[ private to desmond ]

I have something for you. Has your name written all over it. Come by any time. Or I’ll come to you, since it’s suddenly a zoo here.

So, hello. My name's Alistair. And I need to talk about a little thing? Nothing bad. Just. Kind of a 'this is happening' notice and a question.

First of all.

[The picture shows Alistair's face from mostly underneath with a vaguely rocking motion, his breath fogging every exhale - he's outside, and it's blasted cold.]

I'd like to thank Foggy for teaching me more about how to use this thing. It's a little easier with my little fingers, so thank you.

Second of all--

[The picture shifts, swinging around to show a pile of limbs to one side, and a few logs to the other side, bark partially removed.]

I've been working on starting some kind of lumber production up. Because with one house burnt down and I've heard about a barn, well, building a log barn is possible, but heavy, and a little stupid for a building as large as a barn. And I happened to spend some time with a logging group in the Free Marches, so I know what I'm doing. If you're out in the woods and you see a tree with a ring of bark cut away from it, it's not something creepy. It's me, marking which trees are suitable for harvest. They're either dying, in a crowded area, or are big enough to be a threat if they fall. Some of them are healthy, but for the projects I've heard of, we need some big trees for beams. Anyway.

[He points to each pile in turn as he talks about them.]

These branches here are too small to use for much. If you have a project that needs smaller pieces of wood, these are ready for some kind of something. The smaller limbs are probably best for kindling or whittling. The larger ones might be able to be turned into small plank lumber.

These logs over here, though, are going to become real lumber, but here's the hitch. I've been trying to get the bark off these things with this.

[He hefts an axe up into frame alongside his face.]

And it's been damned hard. I've heard there are some people around here with a forge, and I would've found it by now, but I've been uh.

....Dealing. With some things.

So I've not looked around much.

What this comes down to is - forge people. I have no idea who you are, but I'll trade lumber for supplies to make lumber. Let's talk? My first projects are the ones that'll make all this easier. After that, full production with anyone who's willing to listen to my instructions as they're learning, because I'm not stupid enough to think I can do this by myself forever.

But right now, it's damned cold, and my fingers are starting to do that burny-achy thing so I'm going back in a house. Andraste's armpit, where did my gloves go-- Oh right--

[And that's where the video ends.]

For those who would like a professional, if 12th Century, source of councel in matters of grief, personal loss or simply someone with training and experience in mediating difficult or personal matters to speak to I have opened the bakery in the North Village as both it's functional purpose and a neutral space to speak of such things.

People are also free to use it as a meeting place for groups of such discussions. I will happily vacate or mediate as requested.

Bread will be made daily, and anyone wishing to learn is welcome.

If someone can find some nuts, I will make baklava.

As a point of less awkward discussion: Has anyone here fought and killed what most would consider a spirit or god before?

[Hi, villagers. Here on your screens is one Natasha Romanoff, hair tied back from her face, still looking a little worn out but finally rested again after sleeping for nearly 24 hours.]

So. It's been about two weeks since our unexpected little hiking trip, the weather sucks, and since I don't think group therapy would go over well here, I'm offering another option for those of you looking for a little distraction.

[The video pans from Natasha's face over to a small bookshelf, where the brightly-colored spines of twelve hefty mass-market paperbacks can be seen. The titles are all fairly innocuous, and they all seem to be part of the same series, being labeled by month at the top of the spine.]

Whoever's running this place has seen fit to send me a small part of my library from back home. They aren't much, but in my experience there's very little a trashy romance novel can't cure. I'm willing to loan them out if anyone's looking for something to read that isn't an informational guidebook or how-to.

Of course, that's with an oath to bring them back in the same condition they were loaned out in.

If anyone wants descriptions or summaries, feel free to stop on by number 40 or send me a message. First come, first serve.

I guess since I'm here, I know some of us are dead in our world, not sure if people are handling it well or care or whatever, but maybe people who want to talk about it could meet up.
