Jacob. [If anything, he sounds relieved.] At the moment, things are... strained, I will admit. I had hoped to send a message before this, for you and for Malik.

We are on the mountain and have begun our way back down. It seems most who were here before us have already gone on. Are you well? Is Malik?

Malik's here. He's organizing to start heading out to where you are and I'll be coming with him. Others have volunteered as well.

I have been worse, though I have also been better. It is... something I should have expected, I suppose. [His voice is little different than usual - which likely isn't surprising. Altaïr isn't one to admit any negative emotion for long until he has no other choice.] There are footprints here of beasts. Takashi has remembered that this sort of shrine often involves foxes, but I suspect he means larger foxes than the ones I've seen. I'm certain that, at some point, there will be an altercation.

How bad is it? At this current moment. Not just with yourself. Is anyone hurt?

[He's wanting to ask if Altair is okay, if he's upset, and he won't bring himself to ask. He knows Altair is embarrassed at what Jacob has seen, and he likely wants to distance himself from that, even if things are that bad.]

But foxes here. Who knows what that might mean with all of the odd animals we've already seen. Given those odd dogs...

[The shudder is almost heard.]

Certainly there are natural weapons to be found. Perhaps if there's many of you, they'll avoid you.

[He only knows of foxes in the hunt, after all.]

As yet, none are injured. And while I have heard rustles in the forest around us, I have yet to see what these foxes may be. We are in luck that I have my blades and Zevran is armed, but Takashi has no weapon, and neither does the fourth with us - a being named Connor, not at all resembling the one we knew.

[He pauses. But then he admits:]

I am concerned. I would be better in the trees, but the trees here are unsuitable, and I do not have my Sight. [The capital S is practically audible - and he trusts Jacob knows what he means.] This is terrain I am unfamiliar with. I am not at my best use.

Honestly, Jacob, I'm more concerned for that group. I was fully dressed for weather and with my weapons, but many of them were not and don't know how to hunt.

I was not. There's several of us that woke as if it was a normal day. A rather skilled sleight of hand though to kidnap so many.

More gone than here it seems. Most that I know personally are gone but Malik.

If I could get back and help sooner, I would, but unfortunately, my power is to see the right path, not to travel it quickly.
