[Hi, villagers. Here on your screens is one Natasha Romanoff, hair tied back from her face, still looking a little worn out but finally rested again after sleeping for nearly 24 hours.]

So. It's been about two weeks since our unexpected little hiking trip, the weather sucks, and since I don't think group therapy would go over well here, I'm offering another option for those of you looking for a little distraction.

[The video pans from Natasha's face over to a small bookshelf, where the brightly-colored spines of twelve hefty mass-market paperbacks can be seen. The titles are all fairly innocuous, and they all seem to be part of the same series, being labeled by month at the top of the spine.]

Whoever's running this place has seen fit to send me a small part of my library from back home. They aren't much, but in my experience there's very little a trashy romance novel can't cure. I'm willing to loan them out if anyone's looking for something to read that isn't an informational guidebook or how-to.

Of course, that's with an oath to bring them back in the same condition they were loaned out in.

Depends on how you define best, because my personal favorite is "Daisy, Chained" with its artistic floral censorship but "Paws of Gold" looks like it stepped off the Harlequin cover art rejects pile

It definitely can, otherwise there wouldn't be so many velvet clown paintings on eBay.

Daisy's definitely your style, then, I didn't think shoulders could bend that way and I'm pretty sure she's fractured a vertebra or three.

I could probably be convinced. There's at least one person who's blind here, and maybe some who can't read. Be a shame to keep anyone out of the fun. I don't think they've got the recording length, but I'm sure someone could start a nightly story hour or something. Maybe a book club.

Bookclubs really can be fun. If you do a story hour, you could ask people to offer services, so you don't wear out your voice. I'd also suggest not going the full cast route. It can be fun, but it takes a lot of arrange.

I heard something to that end. Would have talked to you some to check in, but I was managing a rather tricky situation. I was the only one even properly dressed with my group. We got separated out by a fox as well, though not as bad.

A week, maybe a touch more? Probably not. I have a friend making sure I get back here sooner rather than later.

The plot's paper-thin, usually contrived in an effort to make two or more characters fall deeply in love and delivers a happy ending without any sort of uncertainty, side characters exist to support the main goal of romance and all in all, it's basically the literary equivalent of a Twinkie. Something sweet and light without much in the way of substance. Makes you feel good, doesn't make you think harder.
