For those who would like a professional, if 12th Century, source of councel in matters of grief, personal loss or simply someone with training and experience in mediating difficult or personal matters to speak to I have opened the bakery in the North Village as both it's functional purpose and a neutral space to speak of such things.

People are also free to use it as a meeting place for groups of such discussions. I will happily vacate or mediate as requested.

Bread will be made daily, and anyone wishing to learn is welcome.

If someone can find some nuts, I will make baklava.

As a point of less awkward discussion: Has anyone here fought and killed what most would consider a spirit or god before?

There are no gods where I come from, but I have experience forcing Dead spirits to truly die. Free magic spirits were never actually alive, and thus cannot be killed, but it is possible to destroy or bind them.

Glad to see more up in the north. I bring down a lot of trees for my own therapy, so willing to trade the work for more food for the house.

That said, what does awkward mean in your world if that's less awkward? But I'll bite. Does a demon count?

I assume by Dead spirits you mean the unmoored souls of the deceased who have yet to move to the next life.

I believe Tower and the rest of the Arcana fall more in to the second category, though I think moreso the Illuminants than the Arcana.

What sort of vengeance for destroying their own do spirits generally employ?

Come by the bakery whenever you have time, it is not a quick thing to do.

Do you mind telling me of it, and what the repercussions were if any?

I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about, but in general, it's not in the nature of Free magic for spirits made of it to care much about others, even those of their own kind. Although destroying them would give them cause to see you as a threat.

He challenged me, I cut him in half. Far as I can tell he just died. No fanfare or world ending events if that's what you're looking for. Of course there were a lot of such beings in my world.

I expect my threshold for awkward conversations has changed quite a bit, but it generally involves people getting angrily offended by easily navigated cultural differences. Or bedding someone's spouse behind their back.

Depends on what sort of demon I suppose, considering I technically was one during that particular fight.

Yeah, I didn't stop to ask it what kind it is. I know it's not a revenant, because that's the kind I am and he was way beyond that. It was a put the bastard down or he'd take over the known world kind of a thing. Enslave mankind, destroy everything in his fucking path.

That is quite alright, I doubt there are many here who have dealt with beings either of us have encountered.

Seeing us as a threat was rather the point. We were treated as playthings, gathered up and tossed aside with the same whims as a child's dolls. Fighting back was the most reasonable choice, and it seems I at least succeeded in getting some measure of freedom from their games.

It was technically a form of posession I think, but I was the 'obligated to eat people to stay sane while constantly hungry' sort of demon.

Useful powers when I needed to take on something inhuman though.

Twenty five years of arguing with holy men mostly, but also and equal amount of time devoted to paying attention to people as people, mediating in civil disputes as well as helping those who have departed from difficult lives and situations regain a sense of purpose in a safe environment.

The latter of which involves a fair bit of letting people hit you.

The word Seifer and I am from? It's pretty common to fight spirits. And in our world history, if you believe the creation lore, humanity has already killed our deity. More or less.

I've had a hand in fighting and commanding a number of spirits, never killed one though.
