@everyone (un:mayor hotdog)
[ that's right, frank is reprising his old title. more for recognition than because he wants to assert any sort of authority. he just has something Important to ask everyone. he looks nervous, but it's no more than usual, if you know him. if you don't, here he is. a hobo dad with a bone to pick. he doesn't make eye contact with the feed, but one will notice him signing one-handed as he goes, like it's automatic and he doesn't even realize he's doing it. it brings that leather bracelet he always wears into focus, woven in the celtic knot for 'leader' if anyone were familiar with such things. ]
I've been here about six months now, yeah, and... I've, I've seen a lot of weird shit. [ he quirks the tiniest, lopsided smile. ] That's not really limited to this place though.
Anyway, when I came here, me and a couple other people noticed we had superpowers. Stuff we could do we couldn't before, and I never really thought there was a pattern, 'cause a lot of people say they don't have powers or if they do they've never manifested. And sometimes we get temporary stuff, like all this fire and ice shit... Well.
[ he has to clear his throat - this is already so much more than he usually says at one time. he snaps his fingers to bring out the pyrokinesis he's been honing, a lively flame dancing over his fingers. but then he's shrugging and picking back up the sign as he speaks again. if you know any type of sign language you'll recognize a few words, but that it's different from the one you're familiar with. ]
Two things: I think the abilities might be related to the colors we get. Three red scrubs I know can all do the same thing. But that's not really scientific without a bigger sampling, okay, I know, so I was thinkin'... If anyone wants to try and force 'em out, I might've figured that out too. I've seen it happen when people are in danger or really stressed out, so if we can simulate that, we can probably see if there's any merit to this theory.
If you already know what this place gave you, you could tell me what you can do and what color your watch is. I'll go first: I'm a teal scrubs and I can sense imminent danger. And if you don't know yours and this sounds like something you wanna do, I'm at House Six like usual.
Uh. Yeah, that's it. Hotdog out.
//IC EDIT AFTER THE FACT://
In light of guests I have staying for the Winter season, I'll take my meetings at South Village Fountain Park. We can head out from there if anyone wants to do something stupid.
I am NOT volunteering to attack/scare/whatever you and your friends. You guys can do that to each other and let me know what happens.
OK now that's really it back to whatever the fuck you were doing

So I was given red scrubs -- not usually my color, but I digress -- what does that usually mean? The other night I did spontaneously burst into flames, but it sounds like that tracks more with your temporary "fire and ice shit"?
un:christmas wiener
that's the fire and ice shit yeah. you see those mice yet that turn everything to ice? i think the fire powers have something to do with them.
red scrubs that i've seen have a bubble. like a force field? triggered by extreme anxiety or danger. tho i've found the threshold was different in all three people so you might have to do something pretty crazy to get it to work.
text;
Huh. Haven't triggered anything like that, but the mouse trying to turn me into a popsicle is what brought on the fire, yeah. It was pretty freaky.
How are you guys testing the other powers? I've got a pretty high panic threshold most of the time.

[ he'd be happy to do the same for you :) ]

I think I'd rather leave it to chance than play punching bag, honestly, but I did catch the offer there.

[ A few minutes later, after the edit, another message comes in: ]
Okay, now I've gotta ask about the mayor hotdog thing.
no subject
[ can you feel how dry that is over text? bet you can. u g h don't ask him that, anything but that. the shortest version of that story makes no sense but here goes anyway. ]
i went by hotdog in another realm like this. mostly because i didn't think i'd be there long and i like puns. then they elected me mayor.
[ he makes a lot of poor choices, blaine. the more u know. ]

[ Franks, hotdogs, that seems easier somehow. ]
There's no mayor here, though, right? You made it sound like more of a hippie commune.
no subject
there's no mayor here but when i first got here the watches set all our names for us and mine was mayor hotdog. probably to torture me but it's how some of the notnew people know me on the net.
no subject
That's a weird taunt.
no subject
[ and it annoys him. does blaine mean him or the observers? other way he's tired so, ]
sorry?
