Uh... Be dead. That's what I'd do.

As opposed to being killed for the right reasons?
ombranera: (I do not care for the sound of this)

Dead is dead. Your friend was killed one way or the other, intent does not matter. Why take it personally?

Well, honestly? I'd be unsurprised. And just keep going the way I'd always gone. I'm strange I think.

Death happens. Weather by illness, age, or violence, everything dies eventually. What does it matter if the blade was held by friend or foe?

The victim says they're the wrong reasons. Betting the killer doesn't think they are. That said, given you could do anything after being killed, pay them back.

Drink for a few days, deal with the consequences of that and then carry on as if it had never happened.

PRIVATE

If your friend wants to talk to someone who has experienced death multiple times, I am available.

But how do you define 'wrong reasons'?

Would I still ascend to Valhalla to be alongside my mother, father, and the great warriors of history?

If so, nothing else would really matter.

Although, rest assured, I would not go down without the fiercest of battles.

[The answer comes in audio as typing in English makes Altaïr testy.]

Death is death. It is irrevocable. The means of death is never of our choosing unless we take our own lives, but you do not speak of suicide.

With the chance to think on the manners of our own deaths, we are an oddly gifted number, those of us who have seen our lives pass. In such a situation as of which you speak, I do not doubt that there would be an ache. To be killed for the wrong reason is as weighted as to live for it. But were my life taken for a reason I did not believe in, I believe the best I could do would be to think on the reason it was taken, try to find the reasoning of the one who killed me, and see if their logic can be found.

If it could, I believe I would simply accept their reasoning as being accurate for them. If not, I would continue to think on it, consider their possible irrationality, and, being as I am, write much on the subject to attempt to tease out a solution from what aspects I can see. But I have often been told I am too thoughtful a man.

The solution that would work for me may not be the solution that would work for your friend. Every mind is its own landscape with darkened valleys that even its owner does not know. All we can ask is to eventually find a place where most of those valleys are illuminated, and understand and accept our darkness.

[Someone would have to be human to be able to die. Near-death-experiences are often traumatic for humans, and the (admittedly very unusual) scenario this person is describing sounds doubly so. What would he advise a human to do?]

Consult a professional for assistance in recovering from the incident.

If killer is at large, report to law enforcement and prosecute.

[ Maine stares at this for ... quite a while. "Killed for the wrong reasons"? The fuck does that even mean?

After he figures out that this is some kind of 'return from death' scenario, the answer's easy: ]

Kill killer.

Be trapped in hell. Unless this is after you come back to life. Travel. Drink. Start fights until someone knocks me out and gives me something more important to focus on.

I only have unhealthy coping skills such as copious drinking and sex, sorry. I suppose talk to friends?
