Why?

They were killed, assuming that you meant that literally. Regardless of whether or not they recovered, the intent to harm was there. If they press charges, then they may be able to remove the opportunity for their killer to make any further attempts.

I meant it literally, yes. However there doesn’t seem to be a legitimate level of authority high enough in which they can press charges. Not here anyway.

When you say 'aren't using protection', do you mean that they are not only in contact with their killer, but are engaging in unprotected sex with them?

They are. And they’re QUITE aware of what happens with unprotected sex.

They haven't pressed charges. Has the killer faced any punitive measures for their actions at all?

I think they’re grown up enough to know about the consequences of not using a condom. They don’t need me to remind them.

No, you're right. They're running off of their basic urges and need that release. They're definitely not making any responsible decisions but...

I don't know what else to tell you. Other than that's just what is going on right now. I think they help each other. Not just sexually.
