You know, I've been thinking. If I were back home right now--[Leaving aside everything that had gone terribly wrong back home, dealing with the interdimensional parasite that had brainwashed his parents and wanted to feed off of him and his magic for hundreds of years, his missing brother, et cetera]--it'd be time for auditions for the spring musical. I think this year was supposed to be Bare, which would have been amazing, especially since it would've been senior year, so, my last chance at a lead role, you know?
Maybe you don't, I mean, I know a lot of people aren't from Earth, or from the twenty-first century, but that's not really the point, sorry, I'm getting distracted.
The point is, I miss music, and I miss theater, and even with learning self-defense and first aid and reading everything in the schoolhouse and foraging and all the things we need to do here to survive, I still end up with a lot of free time. So, I was thinking, I'd love to learn some new songs, and new dances, and new stories. I don't know if there're enough people here interested to justify putting on a show or anything, but I thought it might be fun to get people together to trade those sorts of things. Share parts of our cultures, you know? Anyway, if anyone's interested, let me know, we can work something out.
[action, OTA:]
[Those who frequent the schoolhouse might run into one Billy Kaplan there after this broadcast, sorting through books on the shelves attempting to organize things by genre and/or season and trying to figure out what he has or hasn't read. If he isn't there, you might run into him in the inn grabbing lunch, or on the road heading to or from the eastern woods outside of town on a mushroom-hunting run. Wherever you find him, chances are he's humming under his breath, if not singing outright. What? It's been stuck in his head for a while now.]

Re: private audio
[He does sound at least a little amused, even if he also sounds a little horrified. Jason, why.]
Who's Tiny? I mean, I could totally do The Little Mermaid. Disney's not a bad place to start.
private audio all the way
[maybe more than once. also? shitty jokes about his death is how jason sorta-deals with it.]
Humor’s the best medicine, right?

[The idea of someone calling any universe's version of Black Widow 'Tiny' is both terrifying and amusing, though.]
What about you? Were you gonna help her with the production?
[And then a moment later:]
I guess it's better to laugh about some things. But still, dude.

[shudderrrrr nope.]
I could maybe help if you had some fight scenes that you wanted to look realistic, but that’s probably all I could do.

Hey, you can dance. I remember New Year's, it wasn't that long ago. But if performance isn't your thing, I'm not gonna force you. Fight choreography is a thing, too, though.
Actually--I've been looking for someone to teach me. To fight, I mean. Hand to hand, that kind of thing. I'm learning staff fighting from Nida, but it's not enough, I think. Could you teach me? I mean I get it, if that's not your thing either, but...

[he bites down on the impulse to make another dumb joke about his death - billy seemed unnerved after the last one.]
Anyway, I’m helping Nida out at the dojo, teaching hand-to-hand. I can definitely teach you a thing or two, whenever you want.

Even if you can fight, teaching isn't always someone's thing, either. But if you're willing to teach me, I'd really like that. It's just...kind of easier to learn from someone I know, you know?
[Sorry about the death jokes, Jay, Billy's lost a few too many friends who don't seem to be recovering from it as quickly.]

[you know. his partner? the guy who didn’t give a single shit that he was dead?]
I’m sure you’ll be bustin’ heads with the best of ‘em in no time.

Thanks, Jay. It's cool of you to do this. Maybe we can meet up tomorrow sometime?
