[And just like that, with a beep and a glitch, her device is back to black and the feelings she'd had about being all too aware of the world and tired of dealing with it were gone. She felt more centered, if frustrated by the aftermath that left.
She'd have to do some damage control.]
Private to Foggy
I owe you a huge apology.
Right mind or not, there were better ways I could have handled it, and you were only reaching out to help. I appreciate that, and I hope you can forgive me.
Private to Eddie
We should talk.
[She's still not sure how to feel about ... what happened ... now that she's on the other side of it. She could recognize that neither of them had been thinking clearly, and she will own up to her own actions. But, it's something else to process it with a clear head.]

He shrugs and focuses back on the kitten. "I knew some things. Maybe more than most. But he was right, I don't know the real him, just the one he put on for public. Unlike you, you adorable little fuzzball. You've missed your uncle Foggy, haven't you?"

"Welp, that's it. He's officially claimed you; Foggy Nelson, property of Lynn."
She wasn't sure what else to say; she didn't have that kind of experience with someone, not to the extent Foggy did. She couldn't imagine keeping around a friend like that.
No, she realizes she absolutely wouldn't. She didn't hold onto people she couldn't trust. Eddie skirted that line, and it had ended their engagement. She couldn't see herself going to the lengths Foggy did for someone like that.
So, she keeps quiet, takes another drink of her tea (a little easier the second time around), and focuses on the cat, reaching over to scratch at his chin.
"I don't know how I lucked out to get this little guy, but I'm infinitely happy that I did. It's such a mundane thing, petting him, playing with him ... but it's enough to sometimes forget all the other bullshit here."

One finger comes to rub under Lynn's chin. "You kept me pretty good company when everyone was gone. He liked being inside the layers of blankets on my bed."

"I'm glad he was there for you. And, I appreciate that you were able to look out for him, for me. I still owe you for that. Anytime you need a cuddlebug, let me know and I'll bring him over."

Lynn, as if punctuating her statement, settles himself down as a cat-loaf on Foggy's leg and slips into a purry little catnap.
"This place would be so much harder to deal with if there weren't people like you, Foggy."

Foggy's fingers drift to rub the back of Lynn's neck and between those tiny shoulder blades softly.
"Um... thanks? I think."

She'd hazard to guess that Lynn would agree with her, the way she can hear his motorboat engine from where she's sitting.
