I was twenty nine when I left here. And now I am forty three.

This group of us have only been here about two and a half years, so it depends on what you mean by "many years." A lot of people have disappeared and returned, some multiple times over. The timelines vary, but as far as I know, more than a year between disappearance and reappearance isn't common.

When I left here I was one age, and now I am many year older. It seems rather strange.

Speaking of moving, why didn't you go home with Desmond after meeting him? He's family. He's your descendant.

It is strange, but I have not thought of him as family until just now. I suppose that's the reason.
