In light of recent events, I believe it would be best to start considering this to be a longer-term engagement. [He absolutely means that in military sense of things, thought he makes no attempt to clarify.] Myself and several others have already begun looking into making the Inn a safe place for those who might prefer to avoid the bulk of the current conflict, and anyone willing to assist either in that or anything else that might be similarly of use would be more than welcome to do so.

Thus far, the bulk of the preparation have been going towards making the Inn suitably defensible. However, anything you'd be willing to offer would be more than welcome.

If the Inn is to be the only defensible shelter then it must be made livable for the full population of the village for so long as a siege may last. Is it prepared already?

Not currently. There are some rooms available that have been used by those who prefer to not reside in one of the houses, and some work has gone into preparing the Inn to be more defensible, but it is not currently ready to hold all of those who might choose to make use of it during a siege.

Then I do believe I shall be able to help. I have been educated in the running of a kingdom, and you might say I have secondhand experience in wilderness survival.

Whatever experience you have to offer would be more than welcome. Starfleet training does cover situations like these, but most of my direct experience is with more ship-based combat.
