UN: The Brock Report
So Hanukkah's just kicking off. Means we're close to Christmas. Given how many people are here from other places do you have any winter, solstice, or yule traditions?
Looking for cool Holiday stories. Totally not trying to chase away Seasonal Affective Disorder
Private to Tony Stark
hey so.
I had a weird dream. You and Anne were trying to convince Venom to reveal itself on camera. I know that Venom asked Anne to come but ever since this every time he's clammed up. Only answers yes or no. Seems super worried about me. I've tried to leave the house and talk to people three times and nearly barked at them.
I'm not mad. Just...trying to put together what happened. Did this thing I dream actually happen?

[Party? We can't have a party! Will Anne be at this party? What are you doing? What are you...]
no subject
I'd be happy to help. I might already have a few things around the house that I've collected over the last few months.
no subject
Are you in danger?
Is this woman a thre...no. Eddie no you are meant to be with Anne and Anne has no one.
Staring at the phone, Eddie swallows. I don't think so.]
Great. Y'know we should probably find a time to get together.
no subject
Let me know when is best. Arado will probably join us though he isn't good at making ornaments.
[She's already starting to think about what odds and ends she can part with. It's a silly thing to be excited about but she is excited.]
no subject
[Eddie if you do this I will eat this Arado.]
I'll message you. ...Cool with coming to my place?
no subject
I'll start gathering stuff together.

Now you just need to decide on a time.
[She might be teasing, just a little bit.]
no subject
Thread's the one thing we need.
no subject
And how about three days?
[She's not going to tell him that she took apart a sock to use it as thread but that's totally what she did.]
no subject

Three day Timeskip.
"Would you relax." Eddie has moved a blanket over the claw marks in the walls, "Look I don't know how Klyntar do things but human beings can be friends with more then one person. Trust me."
We will try. It will not be like that boy.
Eddie's collected greenery, berries, flowers, and stuff in various shades of red and white. No blue flowers, one of them gave him a nasty shock and he'd spent all day shocking other things to Venom's utter delight.
He glanced toward the door and Venom snorts You should set out water. Sandwiches.
"Don't have any of that." Eddie's talking to the thing in his head like it's no big deal as he finalizes the crafting, "...Well water. But that'll be for her.
When she gets here."
Hmn.
His ear is tilted towards the door as he works, waiting for a knock.]
Three day Timeskip. \o/
Everything is shoved into a bag and then slung across her back. A small basket holds pieces of dried meats and nuts that she'd grabbed from the inn during her mini-raid of the supply closest.]
Eddie.
[She knocks politely at the door and waits.
Arado is padding in circles around Wanda's legs, eagerly sniffing everything on Eddie's front porch before being assaulted by a leaf. After Wanda peels the leaf from Arado's nose, he sits and waits patiently with his eyes studying the door.]
\o/
Tell her about me!
No. his mouth curls into a smile.]
Hey.
[He bends, moving to offer his fingers to the dogs.]
Hey Arado.
[Trying to get him to like us. It's not going to work
Shut up. Shut up.
He meets her gaze with a shrug.]
I should have brought food for him too I'm sorry.
no subject
Don't worry. I brought some food too. [She lifts the small canvas bag with a small smile.]
Can we come in?
[Not that she doesn't like standing outside but it's a little chilly.]
no subject
A blanket hangs strangely on one wall, an old quilt type thing that hides the claw marks. There are other clawmarks buried beneath a second rug.]
Sorry. you know it's the simplest things...you end up like, forgetting first. Like manners.
Water?
no subject
I don't mind but it's cold out. Could you get Arado some water? I'm fine for now.
[She places her bag next to the coffee table and then slips out of her maroon leather jacket. Wanda is wearing a tank top and the same green cargo pants she usually wore. Her hair was tied back but it still fell past the center of her back.]
I grabbed some things from the inn that I thought we could use too.
[Her gaze focuses on his collection while Arado plays as Eddie's shadow and follows him around with a wide happy doggie grin.]
no subject
Used to do stuff like this for fun. Thanks for not giving me shit about it.
[Anne never gave him shit for it, but it was always...awkward. His weird strange love of Christmas.]
Decorations and gifts and that kind of shi-stuff.
[She is very nice. The dog is agreeable. We will not eat it for now.
Other dogs growl and howl and Eddie visibly relaxes as he points to the shiny stuff.]
I don't know what that was, piece of glass maybe? I don't think there's any glue but if we can figure out something t'do with it...
no subject
I love things like this. It's simple but I think it's very important too. [It's the difference between surviving and living.] I found this white blanket. I think it's too thin to be useful through the winter and maybe we can cut snow flakes out of it.[With a knife or something.]
Can I see?
[Wanda takes the piece of glass carefully in her palm.]
I might be able to put a hole through this. If not we can etch an image in it and place it in the window. When the sunlight hits it, it'll reflect the image through the room.
no subject
The image of Anne faded like morning mist and he shrugged his shoulders.]
That actually sounds cool. Might be able to make like, y'know an angel or something like that.
[Oh god. Was that offensive? She was Jewish-
Stop arguing. You are fine. We are fine. He can feel Venom frowning.]
picky picky.
[He pauses.] Me. Not you. You are not picky this is clever and really cool. Makes me wish I had a hot glue gun.
You do stuff like this a lot here?
no subject
I think an angel is a great idea.
[She isn't a very skilled artist but she can probably do a simple angel shape. It might be best if she lets Eddie handle that.] I have a knife and a Leatherman we can use either to cut in the image.
[As Wanda pulls out the items she addresses his original remark.]
I don't do this exactly but I've spent a lot of time trying to find creative ways to work with what I have.
[A beat.]
And, can you tell me why exactly are you picky? If you don't like any of this we can do something else?
[Arado is drinking water before he comes to sit next to Wanda, his head in her lap while his tail flicks happily from side to side.]
no subject
[He sighs and scratches the back of his neck. Something oozes beneath the skin where she can't see and he feels...better? Good? It's hard to tell.]
I'm...I just tend to talk to myself. You get an image in your head...
[He sighed.] I haven't adjusted well here. Sitting here talking to myself.
[We. We haven't adjusted well.] How'd you find such a sweet tempered dog. Most animals don't like me.
no subject
You're resilient. I think you're adjusting fine but it takes time and it helps if you have people you can rely on.
[That's how she'd gotten through her first couple of months here.]
I can't promise perfect but I'll try my best.
[It might not work, it probably won't work, but it's worth a little bit of extra effort.]
Arado? [Wanda looks down at the dog as his head pops up. He clearly knows that he's being talked about.] I am his third owner but he'd been trained by the best and he listens. I spoke to him when we first walked in, Sei Nett, which told him that you are a friend. There is something about you that has him on guard but that's all.
I believe he had shown up in a box.
