Having a bit of a problem getting to sleep, and I don't have access to the old methods of dealing with it here. Unless sleep powder is still a thing and people are hiding it.
Anyway, basically what I'm looking for is any remedies or advice people might have for getting to sleep. Or possibly a sparring partner to at least exhaust me to the point of passing out.
Or bedtime stories. There's no books, but bedtime stories are nice, good way to learn about other people's worlds and all that.

Allergic to strawberries and dogs. I don't have any medicinal allergies that I know of but, well, where I grew up didn't use as much beyond antibiotics. We had other means of healing.

All right, I've got an idea of what I can give you. If you're comfortable enough stopping by the hospital sometime, I can give you general directions along with the medicine. If not, I would be happy to meet you somewhere else.

If the hospital would have a quiet place to talk, I might prefer that... But yeah, give me some directions, I haven't actually figured out where you guys are set up yet.
[He may have a bit of concern for Rinoa and Seifer. If he could find someone with mental healthcare experience he might point that person toward his people.]

[ mental healthcare is, unfortunately, not entirely her strong suit, or at least not like it is deanna's. but beverly is good as moral support and she will always offer what she can of that. ]

What kind of exhaustion are we talking about here? I mean, a standard workout hasn't been wearing me out enough, but I don't have the equipment I used to use either.
no subject
And well, that is the problem with using workouts to wear yourself out, you keep getting fitter, but I am sure we can figure something out. What kind of workouts have you been doing? Endurance or strength?

[The thing was, Nida would more likely than not consider taking someone up on that implication. If he realized what the implication was.]
My usual routine is a bit of both. I was trained as a polearm fighter back in my work, with some backup in smaller sticks called tambo. Lack either of them to work with. And I can't exactly do one of my fall backs of cross country training because I do not feel like going too far into the woods unarmed.

I hear there's a dojo, though.

Yeah I've heard about that. It's definitely something I'm considering. Not open too late given it's winter, but it might be an approach.

Do you fight with any particular styles?

You could always carved something out of some wood? I have a few blunt instruments sitting around just in case, made that way.

Still, I guess getting my ass kicked in hand to hand might help some.

Coming out of darkness, she eventually sees oceans. The animals from this world congregate, trying to understand what they see in the sky. A flock of birds is sent to help her. The birds catch her and gently guide her down onto the back of Great Turtle. The water animals like otter and beaver have prepared a place for her on turtle's back. They bring mud from the bottom of the ocean and place it on turtle's back until solid earth begins to form and increase in size.
Turtle's back becomes Sky Woman's home and the plants she's brought down with her from Skyworld, including tobacco and strawberries, are her medicine. She makes a life for herself and becomes the mother of Haudenosaunee life, as we know it today.

For what it's worth, I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping here, too. It's hard to stop thinking a mile a minute. I've gone for a loooot of late walks.

I wouldn't mind hearing something. If nothing else, learning experience.

What sort of stories do you like? Matthew always liked the ones about heroes fighting monsters, but Lucas liked the magic stories the best. Everyone's got something they like to hear about.
no subject
Space stories actually. Space in general. When you fight monsters yourself or can access magic, and your boss and his friends literally saved the world from monsters and a crazy Sorceress it gets a bit... Rote?
Which I know not everyone here gets.
