[ Steph seems terribly excited about something, though she keeps the level of cool she usually does when chatting with people she doesn't know that well. ]

Hey, so, we have at least one chemist here, right? I need a favor.

[ She turns her watch around, with some difficulty and blurry transitions, until it shows a box containing the largest, squarest coffee bag Steph has ever seen. The top is open, of course, so those not familiar with the packaging can see that it's full to bursting of coffee grinds. ]

I need somebody to test this and make sure it's not poisoned without using more than like, a spoonful.

[ There's some grunting and then Steph appears on screen again, evidently sitting next to the box. ]

If it's gonna take more than that this is a bullet I'm happy to take. In fact, I insist. If somebody is risking their life by drinking coffee it's gonna be me.

Sounds like you've some experience in that. Flying outside of the airships I mentioned in a previous conversation was not common in my world. Though more bad guys flew without machinery than good guys.

My world has a lot of metahumans- people with powers- even if Gotham doesn’t. And some aliens, monsters, magic users, what have you. There are a lot more bad guys than good.

Monsters, aliens and magic users are part of my world too. Though it would be more accurate to say 'alien'. Jenova was miserable.

[ The camera goes crazy for a minute as Steph adjusts her seat, and comes back sort of sideways while she ticks names off on her fingers. ]

Good guy aliens. Superman, Starfire, Martian Manhunter, Powergirl, Hawkman and Hawkgirl. [ She starts the count over. ] Bad guys: Brainiac, Darkseid, Doomsday, the six or seven different races that invaded that one time, that one race of aliens that invaded that other time that we never found out where they came from... [ 6 to 5, since she isn't counting the alien alliance as more than one. ]

Okay, yeah, technically we're winning in that department I think, at least on Earth.

Metahumans I could literally go on for hours about, but magic users are really uncommon. Most people are still convinced there's no such thing.

Okay... that is a lot. We only had the one alien. But it did almost destroy the world with a meteor.

They do seem to like that kind of thing. Always seemed weird to me. Like, I know people suck sometimes, but did we really do so bad that you have to just trash the whole thing?

As Jenova and Sephiroth wanted to create enough damage to awaken the lifestream so they could command it and use our planet as a nice ride to another world so they could take over there after consuming its energy... yes?

[ She just blinks at him for a moment. ]

How does one... ‘ride’ a planet? Isn’t that like, not how physics works?

[He pinches the bridge of his nose and lets out the sort of sigh that said 'that is an exceedingly long story.']

Can I go the short route and say 'magic?'

[ She nods her head to the side in consideration. ]

I'll allow it. I never took physics anyway.

[He gives a little shrug.]

There you have it. Magic.

Either way, that doesn't seem like it's anything humans did.

Well, Jenova wasn't human. She was an alien. And Sephiroth had her DNA spliced into her before he was born. So... it was weird. My world was weird. Is weird.

I mean, it's nothing humans did to deserve it.

But yeah, definitely weird.
