So, just wondering. Is anyone else in this clown rodeo as skeeved out by this "Secret Santa" missive as I am? I mean, don't get me wrong. I'm bored as fuck. I'm gonna do it. Way more entertaining than counting the cracks in my ceiling. But seriously...what the hell are the Overlords going for here?

I would hope they'd find that there'd come a point where most people would decide enough was enough. But otherwise... one would definitely want to start small, with that sort of thing.

I'm not sure about faith, necessarily. But hope... certainly. That we are better, that we can be better. That we can be who we are and still be the best of ourselves, regardless of what happens.

[Not that people always are, mind. But that doesn't mean he doesn't hope, either.]

I won't say humanity is perfect, even as of my time. But there's... a willingness to try all the same, if that makes sense?

I can't say I'm surprised? Even back home it took humanity quite a while to get to where we are now, and it's still something of a work in progress.
