If anyone has a few hours free, I could use a set of strong arms to help me move my things back to the inn. There's quite a bit now, especially with recent events and I'd like to be done all at once.
I'm sure I can dig up something to offer as payment.

I have! I took an unoccupied cabin that had many rooms, in the event — well, in the event others show up and require a place to stay. [He looks to her, shifting the items in his hands for a better grip.] Forgive me if this is too forward for you, but if you ever find yourself lonely, I hope you'll come to where I am. Visit, stay, whatever it is that would help you. Truly, I wouldn't mind. You have shown me nothing but kindness since I arrived, and I would very much like to show you the same in return.

If I find myself needing company, I assure you that you'll be one of my first calls.
[ Hopefully, the inn will provide what she needs and she'll get her solace when she goes out to do her daily work. ]
Perhaps at some point, you might even go exploring with me, then?

I ran into quite the large wild boar last time I was out there, but I had help in taking it down. You would certainly be a helpful asset.
[ Not to say that she wants to use him, precisely, but Peggy is keeping all her options open. ]

Hopefully.
All right, I'll bring this to the Inn to an empty room, and then I'll be right back to get more. If you could arrange your items into piles of this size — [He slightly lifts his hands to gesture to what he's currently holding] — that would be most helpful.

[ Of course, that plan might go terribly awry so she's not going to encourage it to happen immediately, but it's just a suggestion, she's not going to insist that it absolutely must happen. She presses her lips together to hide her smile at Thor's measuring system, but nods and begins to get to work. ]
Yes, sir, will do.

Once the items have been placed, he takes a few minutes to gather his breath, shake out his arms, stretch, and then proceeds back to Peggy's cabin to gather more.]
I found a room that I was told was being unused. I placed the first pile in the back corner, so as to be out of the way. [Hands on his hips, he glances around at the remainder of what needs to be moved before looking to Peggy again.] What was your friend like? The one who's disappeared?

Stella was very much someone I respected deeply. She's from the future, but a police woman in her time, a detective. I saw myself in her, to a degree. I felt we shared experiences.
[ She also appreciated that Stella wasn't overly cuddly or anything of the like. She pinks a touch in her cheeks to think of the more intimate times they had, but that's for Peggy to know about and no one else. ]

It sounds like you two were well-suited to be friends here, and housemates on top of it. I am sorry to have not had a chance to meet her. If you speak and think of her so fondly, there's no doubt I would have done, too.
She must have been very smart to've been a detective. I don't know much about them since we don't have those in Asgard, but I've heard of them from my human friends.

[ Peggy does not say that she suspects that Stella would have also liked to bed Thor, given that her roommate did have quite the appreciation for handsome men, and she's not sure how he would take it, so she keeps that small little detail to herself. ]
I'd like to think I was a sort of one, but in truth, it was still more mission-work than anything else.

I don't think we've ever really had a chance to talk about life before here. I mean, you already knew me from when I was last here in the village, but I'm afraid I don't remember much of anything of that time. What is it that you did before?

[ She has little worries about telling Thor this. He's from her world and the future, which means that for him, she's practically just a note in the history books and she's able to speak freely. ]
During the war, I was a liaison to the science division and after, I worked my way into the field, to become an agent and help prevent disasters from happening.

[ In a different world, perhaps she even would have been one of them. ]
It wasn't my first choice, admittedly. It was something my brother encouraged me to do.

He's dead, unfortunately. He was in the field as well and he believed I was wasting my time at Bletchley doing only codebreaking when he believed I could accomplish so much more.

Loki has died— ugh, more times than I care to recall. He's always come back, though. I mourned him the first time, because I thought him truly gone, but I've learned my lesson. I don't do that anymore. [He's maybe trying to lighten the mood a little bit while also attempting to show that he can understand, in his own way.] Would you like to tell me about him? I'd understand if you'd rather not, but— if you do want to, please do.
