It appears my roommate's gone missing. Or he's been missing for a few days now at least. His name is Connor. I can only assume he's somehow returned back to his time as that seems to be a pattern I'm noticing since I got here a month ago.

He had a tendency to go out hunting a lot. Went between the inn and across the bridge most of the time. Tall, gentle giant looking kind of guy, [ IC edit after speaking with Nida: ] Native American dark hair, dark eyes, tanned skin with a pair of good looking cheekbones. He isn't much of a speaker. He also went by 'ratonhnhaké:ton' on the network.

Please let me know if you've seen him? I'd greatly appreciate it.

It is. This place seems somewhat designed for people like me. Survivalists.

Where I'm from, we rely a lot on technology and how far it's advanced over the years. But it helps when you've had training since the first day you could walk.

We have none of that. Technology's more based on advanced weapons, and even then it's more like catapults and fire arrows. I'm getting use to this text thing though. I like it! The bunker screens are interesting too.

I still need to take a trip down to the bunker. I like that you have fire arrows and catapults back home though. The era difference is fascinating honestly. It always will be. Do you know how to build a catapult?

It's a very interesting place. I can't say that it's anything I'm used to, it's clearly technology better suited for you lot. So it doesn't make much sense to me. Know how to build one, no, I'm no architect,
I use weapons but I'm not great at making them. Outside of the arrows I make here.

All I know is that it would take a while to travel there. Since I'm still new here, I think I'll wait a bit longer before I decide to trek out to it. Arrows come in handy for hunting. A catapult would take out the beast and mostly everything around it. I say we stick with arrows.

Would you mind showing me how to, one day?

There's a quicker way, there's a pod that goes directly there, but you have to take a boat out to it. Only a few minutes that way though.
Of course! I'd be happy to. I have lessons regularly on archery and hunting, in case people want to learn. They're useful sklls out here.

Oh, you mean by the bridge? I was living out there for a week or two after I arrived. That's good to know.

They really are. Survival 101. Connor was good with hunting. He was always out catching something.

Yeah it's by the north village pond, when you look for it you'll spot it. It only akes a few minutes. It's absolutely insane, I felt like I was being transported.

Yes, it was one of the things we have in common. He's a nice lad. Not a past tense, I don't think.

No one is a past tense. But right now? I don't know how else to think of him. He could come back. I hope he does.

It's happened multiple times. People go, people come back. It's always possible.

I miss him. I didn't know him for long but he was — IS a good guy.

It's like a curse, I'm finding. Know someone for such little time yet bond well enough that a month feels like years, and then that's it. Shit goes wrong.

He is a lovely thing, yes. One of my favorite seductions to date! I do hope he is not going back to a worse situation than here.

I wish I could say that's not true, but it sometimes is. And unfortunately this situation we're in might very well lead to it faster. But there have been people here for years. It can't really stop us from making connections, a life without them is very lonely.

I don't know. I never had the proper chance to talk about his life with him while we were living together. He knew mostly mine.

It can be. I agree. But sometimes that's for the better.

He's a quiet fellow. Shy, even, or he was with me. I can be a battering ram but he tolerated it well.

Being alone you mean?

He was more quiet than shy. Maybe it was because we saw each other every day at home.
