ATV. I'm designing a coal powered/steam powered ATV when we get back.

After having to walk back, I'll be ready to help you build it.

Who all are you with? Anyone that knows how to navigate? What colors?

Captain Picard, a black, Dr. Crusher, a white, and Tenel Ka Djo, a navy blue. So we'll find our way back, I promise. Are you with the main group?

So far. Tenel Ka should be able to point you in the right direction, Navy's are good for that. Picard should be able to get you home safe he's- well. Skilled.

He's a successful captain of a space ship - star ship? - so I don't doubt he has a varied skill set.

All four of us ended up seeing things from each other's lives. Did you see something from home too?

Yeah. Nothing terrible, nothing I didn't already know.

[ Ok that's a lie. ]

What happened while I was in space.

[ Better. ]

What did you see?

Well. The VR version of violently murdering Killian before he could murder you, up through a sky of exploding armor.

This time it felt pretty satisfying, so I don't know what to do with that yet. It reminded me of some things I shouldn't have forgotten, like how strongly I felt in that moment that protecting you was worth all the suits it took to have the means to do it.

...I don't know what will annoy you more if I say 'that was hot'- that I'm appreciating the inherent badass violence or the pun.

Not all of it. The...most active part. Where I fought Thanos. He sort of threw a moon at me. I survived, by the way so don't- don't worry about that..

I might have said the pun, but I'm the one who called myself a hot mess.

I do worry about it, but I also know worrying doesn't change that it happened. I wish I could physically be there for you, but I'm still here for you, day or night, no matter how long it takes to get back.

...I'm going to make it back to you, Pep. Somehow. I promise.

[ He might not mean just here, just now. ]

We're making our way down the mountain right now. So far it seems like everyone's been accounted for.

You'd better, or I'm going to hunt you down by whatever means necessary.

[ Because she knows him, she knows it could mean any and all versions of getting back. ]

I'm glad we're not missing anyone. We haven't pinpointed where we are yet, but we have the way back without that, so maybe we'll hit a landmark soon.

There's no one I'd rather have come to my Rescue, Pepperpot.

[ An avenging angel she, sleek and stunning and sharksmile ruthless. God, how'd he get so lucky? ]

Looks like it's a week's walk to get back. I'll check in with you at the end of every day, see if we can't meet up in the middle?

[ Masterful foreshadowing, Tony. ]

As long as it doesn't take you out of the way, it's a deal.

I'd be insulted if you didn't check on me at least once a day. Just make sure it's your face, I'm not talking in text for a week.

[ That's easy enough- he flips from Text to video with a gesture, angling his wrist to give Pep the optimal selfie angle. ]

[ That's an instant improvement on her mood and this day and it shows, because the strain in her features eases and she gives him a grin. Her projected image is partially obscured for a moment, because she didn't fight the urge to briefly touch even just a screen projected version of that very loved face. ]

Today is crazy. SO crazy. But even if I was handed a ticket out of here, I wouldn't trade being with you for anything, you know that, right?

[ The smile he offers is tired, but present. IT's always good to see her- strange as it is to have her? He's glad every morning to wake and see the curve of her cheek, the sunlight burnishing her hair rose gold. ]

Honestly if you got a ticket home- I'd want you to take Bruce and go. I'm pretty sure you're safe.

[ She makes a face at him. ]

You can't actually believe Bruce and I would leave you behind.

[ Is this hypothetical discussion pointless? Oh, yes. But the color's come back into her pale, pale cheeks now. ]

I know you wouldn't, I know you won't if it ever comes up but- you'd be safer back home. And I'd find a way to follow.

[ He huffs quietly, glad for a sign of color of warmth. ]

Yeah, I think-

[ Screeching verbal halt. She almost, almost lets being safer at home is debatable slip, and it's too soon for that. Might always be, in ways. ]

-we're better off together, no matter the situation.

[ She sighs, the sky is suddenly visible in the display for a few moments, indistinct murmuring, and then she's there again. ]

Okay, gotta go make a game plan. Be good, Tony.

[ Be careful, be smart, be safe. She blows him a fingertip kiss. ]

...I know I am when I've got you.

[ His eyes soften, his smile goes sappy- this is distressing, sure. He's worried, he's beyond worried but- she'll be safe. He has to believe that. ]

[ It's ridiculous, it's not something he does but- time without has him appreciating her a hell of a lot more- dipping back into memory, something he saw Jarvis do with blown kisses from Ana- he 'catches' it, winking. ]
