Checking in for our latest round of forced vacations. I'm with 7. We're both OK. We're in some kind of swamp. No idea where in relation to the village. We've got a creepy note here, apparently we're hunting snakes if we want to get home.
UN: A. Price
Either way, I can try to offer some tips on reptile-wrangling. Did they include any equipment?

[A lengthy pause as she rummages through the bag of supplies.]
Extra-thick gloves and a kind of grabby tong thing on a long stick? For catching them, I guess?

[A few minutes later, he does just that- impromptu herpetology lesson for the... uh. Well, it's passable, if not a total win? Probably more useful for the audio than the awkardly shot video of him wrangling a thick rope in multiple good idea/bad idea ways. Despite the snake handling theme, there is no innuendo whatsoever. At least, not on his end. Occasionally interrupted by Boudica the peahen-cat pouncing the rope and requiring her own handling.]
...sorry about that. If I lock her out of a room she leaves dead mice in my bed until I understand her position as queen of this household.

For the record, I think it's safe to say that both 7 and I wish you were with us on this extremely dirty, humid vacation.
[The image on screen blurs as she moves, deep greens and browns smudged together and then landing back on Karen's face. She holds up the snake stick.]
Here is the thing.

[He goes through the basic instructions for how to use it- again, occasionally having to pick up Boo and place her a few feet away from the rope. There are some moments of extreme closeups of her fur and the sound of rumbling chirp-purring when he has to do so with both hands. It is, if you are a fan of bitchy birdcats, adorable.]

[It all seems relatively straightforward despite the looming threat of actually having to catch massive, venomous snakes, and Karen thinks she gets the gist.]
I hope you know I'm keeping you on speed-dial until we get back.

If you can figure out where you are in relation to the village, I can probably meet you on the way back if you want a third pair of hands.
Really, really wishing I had the setup for making antivenom right now.

More than a little worried about why we're going to so urgently need stuff good for fighting paranoia and nightmares if the town records were right.
Listen, I'm friends with the guy who lost his wrist band a while back. Goes by Seifer or Almasy. I'm going to monitor this to watch for news of him, but if you hear about it, let me know, okay?

And now that you mention it, I'm worried too. This is asking for skin, not venom, which is what we used when everybody was sick.
no subject
But don't get bit. Rinoa's told me some about how those fevers were. Having that happen when so many people are away isn't a good thing at all.

Mostly I'm just annoyed because I'm tired of being the tropics guy dropped into cold areas.

Wait, you're probably from that Earth place, right? You guys have a weird world.

Snakes like the kinds they were looking for a while back?
Private
Yeah, the fever snakes. So I guess get ready for another epidemic, because I don't know why else we'd need them.
Private
Shit this could be bad.
Do you know what goldbells do?
no subject
I was just talking to that Nida kid, though, and realized that when everybody was sick, it was the snake VENOM that was used. This letter is saying we need the SKIN. I have no idea what that does.
I know Venom will take care of him, but we should make sure Eddie isn't on a mountaintop somewhere losing his shit.
no subject
Or they're practice some kind of hoodoo and we're all screwed?
I know Venom will take care of him, but I worry about how others will handle Venom because they don't handle it well and shit could get ugly.
You're all good, right?

Stay safe.
Private
You stay safe too. I know nothing happened in the village last time, but I don't like the idea of these random mass-exoduses, even if they're temporary.
Private
There's less people missing this time. So there's that going for it. I think the most danger I'm in is tripping over the cat, so I should be good.
Private
You're building up all the brownie points so if you go missing, I'll be sure your place is well cared for and stocked for your return, aren't you?
Private
I live in the Inn. It's always warm, I have no animals or plants, the closest thing I have to a dependent is Matt, who manages to feed himself just fine. It's a nice thought, btu I just don't have anything to keep stocked or cared for.

Should be safe to eat though, after cooked. So if you take one down you can get a lot of feathers and some good eating.
[He may not be able to be out there, but at least he can help in some ways.]

You going to be okay out there?
un: slothbaby
Anyways, I hope you're okay! Stay warm and stuff. I'll be rooting for you while caving into my captor's demands, I guess? Not really sure I want to fight the power on this one since I think the power is gonna unleash stuff on us that might require ants!

And yeah, kidnapping sucks.
